Mercedes was early to introduce smaller cars in the premium class and it all started with the 190 model in the early 1980s. It was then replaced by the C-Class. But Mercedes also saw a market for compact cars in the premium class and the A-Class was first introduced in 1997. It would be eight years before Mercedes stepped up another class with its B-Class, built on the former, but longer and with a higher roof height and more space inside. The B180 is one of the more common variants from the first generation, 2005 - 2010, with a 1.7-liter gasoline engine or a 2-liter diesel engine. The second generation B-Class was presented as a model year in 2011 and had grown slightly in length and width. The body was of course completely new, but loyal Mercedes buyers were also able to quickly appreciate the interior as a major change where materials were more lavish than before. For the 2015 model year, the B-Class received an update, which may be good to know if you are looking for a used B-Class from these years, in car circles it is called a facelift, with a changed front, among other things. This in most cases gives a markup on the used price. The third generation B-Class was launched in 2018 and the exterior dimensions had now grown a little more and so had the equipment lists, including larger entertainment systems and semi-autonomous driving like Mercedes' more expensive model series had had before.
