In Sweden, we know the Honda Accord primarily from the 1990s onwards, but the fact is that the model has quite a long history in the automotive world, the first model began to be sold in the mid-1970s to the then compact-minded American market. Most Japanese car brands
established itself in the Western world precisely during this time when gasoline prices rose sharply due to the oil crisis and small cars saw the light of day for the first time. Over the years, the Honda Accord grew and by the fourth generation it qualified more as a mid-range car and it is in this tradition that it has continued until today when the Accord is in its tenth generation which was presented in 2017. The Honda Accord cars of that time were quite simple but generation by generation the cars have become more and more comfort-oriented (and grown in size) and the latest model can be equipped with, among other things, adaptive shock absorbers and a display that is projected into the windshield (called
head-up display). However, this is not found on the Swedish market except in exceptional cases when the model officially stopped being sold in Sweden in 2014. The majority have been sold with petrol engines over the years and in the last generation that reached the Swedish market, generation number nine which came in 2012, it is a question of a 2-liter engine, usually connected to an automatic transmission, although a 2.2-liter diesel engine is also found. In recent years, the Accord has also been equipped with a hybrid engine but this never had time to reach Sweden.
