Winter camping makes it easy to stay close to the skiing and get full flexibility during your vacation. Many winter-friendly campsites are within walking distance of the lifts and offer modern service houses with heating, showers, toilets and kitchens. Several also add saunas, drying rooms, ski storage and other amenities that make it easy to keep both equipment and travelers dry and warm.
– We see a clear trend where customers want to use their vehicles all year round, not just a few weeks in the summer. With today's equipment and the high standard at many campsites, winter camping is just as natural a part of outdoor life as summer camping, says Jonas Karlsson, CEO of Forsbergs Fritidscenter .
Here you live in the middle of the mountains with slopes and cross-country trails right next door. Idre is known for its varied slopes, beautiful expanses and access to top tours. Sälen is Sweden's largest ski area and an obvious choice for both families and experienced skiers. In the Sälenfjällen mountains there are nice campsites in Kläppen, Tandådalen and Lindvallen. All are close to lifts, cross-country trails and snowmobile trails. All campsites also have service buildings with toilets, showers, kitchens, saunas and drying rooms.

Branäs is one of Sweden's most popular family resorts. Branäs Camping is located close to the slopes, and guests have access to a fully equipped service building with showers, toilets, sauna, laundry room and kitchen with both oven and microwave. By staying at Camping Orelle you get access to the world's largest ski area, Les 3 Vallées, at a significantly lower price than staying in Val Thorens itself. The campsite offers electricity, hot showers and a shared service house. The lift is about 1 kilometer away.

In one of the villages in the beautiful Gressoney valley, Camping Margherita is excellent for winter activities. Here you will find world-class skiing at high altitude and access to one of the largest ski systems in the Alps. The site has showers, toilets and a kitchen.
