How to choose the best electric car for your company

19 september, 2025

Many companies have now chosen to have a fully electric vehicle fleet. But in a market where the supply is constantly growing, it can be difficult to know which electric cars are the best to choose – when considering both the cost of ownership and the resale value. Here we share our best tips!

The fact that more and more private buyers are choosing an electric car is clear from the statistics. During the first half of 2025, new car sales of electric cars increased by 16 percent, and on the used car market by as much as 63 percent . In total, distributed between both the used and new car markets, more than 85,000 electric cars changed hands during the first half of the year.

Have you thought about...?
The electric cars available on the used market are largely determined by the vehicle choices made by the country's companies three years earlier. In this way, your company's vehicle choice can be a catalyst in the green transition.

4 tips for choosing the right electric cars for your company

1. Review your needs

Do your employees mostly travel short or long distances? And do the trips mostly take place in and around urban environments where charging is rarely a problem, or out in the countryside, where charging infrastructure may be more limited? Once you have an idea of your driving needs, it becomes easier to determine the range you need.

2. Keep TCO in mind

TCO is the abbreviation that constantly appears in contexts related to company cars and stands for Total Cost of Ownership . It breaks down the total costs of the car into a monthly cost, which shows what the car actually costs to own. The total cost includes, among other things, tax, insurance, fuel/charging, service and depreciation.

3. Choose secure(er) cards over insecure ones
