The options that increase the resale value of the car

Buying a car is a big investment, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the options. Which options elevate your car? Which ones bring you joy in everyday life, and which ones give you a better bang for your buck when it's time to sell? We had a chat with one of our appraisers to get the scoop!

– As a rule, there are certain options that we at Kvdbil see are more in demand than others on the market. And whether you buy a brand new or a used car, it's good to keep track of which options are worth paying a little extra for – if you think about the resale value, says our valuer Magnus Börjesson.

1. Panoramic roof

It's not just an everyday luxury to be able to see the sky above, but a panoramic roof is one of the options that generally pays off when you sell the car on. It's something that's not too visible from the outside, but definitely gives a wow factor when you step into the car - and is therefore considered worth paying a little extra for.

2. Sports package

Choosing the right design package can be a good investment when buying a car. Some packages, such as so-called sports packages, can increase the car's value in the event of a future sale. Sports packages often involve a visual transformation and the sporty design, with details such as spoilers, rims and skirts, is what usually attracts buyers. But it's not just the appearance that matters. Sporty equipment packages can also include features that improve the car's driving characteristics, such as sportier suspension.

3. Towbar

A towbar is on many people's wish list before buying a car. In fact, you could miss out on a sale if your car doesn't have one. The reason is versatility. A towbar makes your car ready for everything from trailers and caravans to boats and bike racks. It increases freedom and enables new experiences.

4. Apple Carplay or Android Auto

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and similar systems seamlessly connect your smartphone to your car's display and make driving more convenient, safe and entertaining. For example, you can answer texts, take calls, navigate, play music or listen to audiobooks. Whether you commute, drive long distances or just want a more comfortable driving experience, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and similar systems can make a big difference, and thus also increase resale value.

5. Parking heater

No more scraping windows and freezing in a cold car! A parking heater preheats your car and gives you a pleasant start to the day. It increases comfort, reduces fuel consumption and thus increases the car's resale value before selling it.
