Although interest in driving an electric car or a plug-in hybrid has increased in recent years, these cars still account for a small share of the market.
The demand for environmentally friendly cars is increasing, but at the same time there are some obstacles for the average person. On the one hand, a lack of charging infrastructure can be a stumbling block, but for many it is the wallet that is the obstacle.
One way to get around the budget problem could be an electric company car. According to figures from leasing company LeasePlan, the number of rechargeable cars in their fleet increased by 45 percent in 2019, compared to 2018. Many believe that there will be a further increase in rechargeable cars in the coming years, as more models come onto the market. Additional factors for an increase may be, as manufacturers catch up, that waiting times for a new electric car have decreased and that the tougher measurement method introduced at the turn of 2020 results in higher vehicle taxes for cars that run solely on gasoline or diesel.
Even though Polestar and Tesla are not among the most common models for company car drivers, it can be fun to compare the costs of three cars in the premium segment.
The Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid:
Benefit value 12,055 SEK/month (after reduction for plug-in hybrids)
The Polestar 2 electric car:
Benefit value 3,761 SEK/month (after reduction for electric cars)
The electric car Tesla Model 3 Long Range
Benefit value 3,791 SEK/month (after reduction for electric cars)
What the net cost will be for you depends on the marginal tax. For private individuals with a company car through their employer, it is not uncommon for it to be calculated at 55 percent.
The costs below are price examples for leasing company cars from Autolease . The cost is affected by, among other things, the level of equipment, leasing period and mileage. How much carbon dioxide the car emits also affects the cost and the levels that form the basis for the monthly costs below should be seen as preliminary.
