The cost depends on the car's battery and the electricity price where you charge. Calculate it like this:
The cost of fully charging your electric car = Car battery capacity x Electricity price per kWh
Cost per mile = Cost of charging / Car range
Charging at home is usually the cheapest option. The average price is around 2.30 SEK/kWh* over the year, but it varies depending on the contract, electricity company and season.
*From November 1, 2025, a temporary high-cost protection will be introduced for households where the state will cover the difference if the monthly average electricity price exceeds SEK 1.50/kWh during the period November 2025 to December 2026.
