New cars coming in 2023

25 januari, 2023

Things will happen in the new car world during the year. A post-pandemic and component shortage effect has caused many launches to be delayed, making 2023 an eventful year. Well, at least when it comes to the rollout of new car models!

New quickly becomes used

As you know, we at Kvdbil broker and sell used cars, but we like to keep an eye on the new models that are launched. Both because it's fun (of course!) , but also because it usually doesn't take that long before newly released cars hit the used market.

When Polestar released its Model 2, it only took a couple of months from the time the first car was delivered to Sweden until it appeared on kvd.se. It was just as quick when KIA released its e-Niro in 2019. We're talking semi-used there!

New models rolling out this year

Our friends at Teknikens Värld threw out their list of car models coming out this year, and here we have handpicked a bunch that we think are especially interesting.

Audi

The popular and fully electric e-tron is getting a sibling in the form of the A6 e-tron. Here you get a car where the 800-volt system makes charging impressively fast. Next year, the station wagon version of the same car will arrive. An Audi cousin to Porsche's electric Macan will also arrive in the near future, but when is not yet known. But the model will be called the Q6 e-tron.

BMW

BMW's new electric car iX1 began production at the end of last year and will hit Swedish streets in 2023. In the middle of the year, the brand is also expected to release its new 5 Series, which includes a fully electric hatchback; the i5.

Opel

Now you can buy a brand new version of the Opel Astra. You can choose between a petrol engine or a plug-in hybrid. For those who are interested, the Astra will also be released as a pure electric car later in 2023.

Peugeot

This year, Peugeot will launch its all-new 408, a hybrid sedan and SUV in appearance. In terms of size, it will be between Peugeot's existing models 3008 and 508. The 408 will be available with both a pure petrol engine and a plug-in hybrid.

Smart

The small car with space for two now comes with space for four. Model #1 is the first release after Chinese Geely became a partner in the brand.

Volkswagen

Things are happening here! Amarok is coming in a new version and then on the same platform as the Ford Ranger. And the classic Passat is going to be electric. The sedan variant will go under the name ID.7 and the station wagon variant is currently called ID.Space Vizzion, but an ID name with a number will probably come eventually. There are whispers about a range of a full 620 kilometers.

Volvo

The all-new electric car EX90 will be a luxurious SUV with room for seven. And if it tastes good, it costs – the car comes with a price tag that starts at over a million. But even though the model can be ordered now, deliveries to customers will probably be delayed until spring 2024.
