– Buying a used electric car or plug-in hybrid should be as safe as buying a petrol or diesel car. By making the health of the battery visible in our ads, we make it easier for buyers to make safe, well-founded decisions, says Daniel Odsberg, Sales Manager at Kvdbil .
Battery health is presented as a star rating, based on the car's so-called State of Health – a measure that shows how much capacity is left compared to a new battery. The test is carried out in conjunction with Kvdbil 's regular vehicle test, without affecting the sales process.
“There is a widespread but often incorrect assumption that electric car and plug-in hybrid batteries quickly lose capacity and need to be replaced. With a clear rating system based on the health of the battery, we give the buyer a better understanding of what they are actually buying,” says Daniel Odsberg.
This is how it works:
The battery is tested via the car's diagnostic socket (OBD2) and is carried out during the vehicle test that all cars on kvdbil.se have undergone.
Data is sent directly to Kvdbil's analytics provider.
The result is displayed in the form of 1-3 stars – or symbols (!) / (?) in case of deviating results.
Ratings:
⭐⭐⭐ Very high capacity, fast charging, long life.
⭐⭐ Good capacity with many years left, but slightly more sensitive to cold.
⭐ Limited capacity, best suited for shorter trips.

Currently, the battery health of cars is being tested at Kvdbil 's facilities in Kungälv, Åkersberga and Svedala. After the summer, the test will also be carried out at other facilities and include all rechargeable cars sold through Kvdbil .
